Making and drinking coffee has become a familiar part of my day. Without it, something feels unfinished, like the day hasn’t properly started.

Something Feels Missing Without Coffee
Making coffee has slowly become one of those things I feel I can’t go without.
If I haven’t made coffee or had a cup, something feels missing. It’s like there’s something I haven’t done yet, or the day hasn’t properly started.
I didn’t expect to get this attached to it when I first started learning. Back then, I was curious about the machine and the latte art. Now, making coffee has found its way into my daily routine, and I notice when I haven’t done it.
I Enjoy Making It Too
A big part of it is the process itself. Grinding the beans, tamping the coffee, pulling the shot, and frothing the milk have become familiar steps that I enjoy going through.
I still like that feeling of working at the machine and looking a bit like a barista. Then I get to pour the milk and try making some latte art. There’s a creative part to it that keeps me interested, even though it’s something I do regularly now.
And after making it, I get to enjoy the coffee itself. The aroma and the taste of espresso with milk are things I look forward to. Making it and drinking it have both become part of the experience for me.
A Habit I’ve Grown Attached To
Sometimes I wonder if this is what people mean when they say they’re addicted to coffee. I’m not sure how much of it is the coffee itself, the habit, or the enjoyment of making it.
What I notice is that I’ve grown attached to the whole routine. There’s the process, the finished cup, and then getting to drink something I’ve made myself.

My everyday cup of espresso and milk.
When I haven’t done it, that part of my day still feels unfinished. Once I’ve made my coffee and had that first sip, it feels like the day has properly started.
